I've had a few friends tell me they'd like to look over my shoulder when I did a pen tool design. Maybe my tutorial wasn't as clear as it needed to be. I've done a little screencast using JING, a free screen capture and annotation tool from TechSmith. The screencast is limited to five minutes, so I had to hurry - but I've gone through the entire process. You can pause and try, or watch it as many times as it takes to get the concept. The screencast is a flash video. I hope you find it helpful. Here's the link...

So Far I am able to create the Jewels in GIMP that are comparable to the ones you create.
At some point, I'd like tyo do a Jewel Tutorial for GIMP even though a well-versed GIMP user can follow the steps in your tutorials.
There is a version of GIMP out there with a Photoshop user interface, called GIMPshop, but I haven't used it much.

I just randomly dropped by, and I must say your gallery is very inspiring.
Have a great week.

Yes I do live in Labrador but not Goose Bay. I am in a town called Makkovik for the time being, but I will be moving to Goose Bay as soon as I can. It's going to be a great place to live.
