I love the tutorials you've made!  They really help a newbie like myself.  Do you think you will ever make a tutorial on fractals?  If not, could you point me toward some good tutorials on making them?  Your hard work is greatly appreciated!

The fractals are easy. Have a look at JWildfire - www.andreas-maschke.com/ - You can find tutorials there as well. Once I create a fractal, I take it into Photoshop to work on it more.

I teach Photoshop and Graphic Design at Utah State University. I've made those courses free online if you're interested.
Beginning - nmsmithphotoshop1.weebly.com
Advanced - nmsmithphotoshop.weebly.com

Have a great day!  Thanks for the watch. :)

Just wanted to say that I love your tutorials. I'm starting to use your technique to try and develop my own kinda style with jewel pieces.
These two are my first tries; ingunn88.deviantart.com/art/Ki… and ingunn88.deviantart.com/art/He….   Note, I'm just getting familiar with the technique so they're not that complex or great.

I don't think it's very wise to link you all of the works that I'll do in the future using your technique but if you want to keep tabs on what I'm doing you can always check my profile :iconingunn88: if you want to.

Thanks again for GREAT tuts and your works, they are such a joy for the eye!

You're most welcome, my friend.  And thanks for mentioning my tutorials - hopefully they'll help others, too.  And you certainly don't need to mention me on every piece you create.  Create away and enjoy.  There are several others who use my techniques that I've taught via my tutorials:  Lyotta (nmsmith.deviantart.com/#/art/F…, PeterPawn (nmsmith.deviantart.com/art/Vio… - are two of them.  Have a wonderful day!

No problem. You deserve to be mentioned for the work you do.
And yes, I've seen their work. It's a combination of your work and theirs that spiked my interest in trying out this style :)

Thanks Nathan, I am going to try my hand at these and see how I do!  Appreciate your time, effort and commitment to excellence.  Ever the instructor.  By the way, MIT has some online  video tutorials about all kinds of subjects!  Going to try my hand at a little Physics, not the math parts, (Perish the thought.  I can grasp some of the scientific concepts.  Just wish I could grasp the Math!

So, we're both math challenged?  :)  Good luck - I'm sure you'll have fun learning, since you're wanting to do this on your own.

Even having examined your tutorials, which are simple enough that even a not-so-digital artist can understand them, I am *still* amazed at the designs you develop with these tools. Filigree and symmography always come to mind with your desktop backgrounds, and it's such fun to be able to understand how you create these things.
